Welcome to my website. I'm Evelyn Rodrigues, a working artist located in Watford in Hertfordshire, near London, England. My passion lies in creating beautiful, lifelike, hand-drawn portraits of both humans and animals from your photographs.
Whether you're looking to immortalise the special bond you share with your beloved dog or cat, celebrate the joy of weddings and family occasions, or have a lifelike portrait to remember a much-loved pet or person that has passed away, my carefully crafted portraits capture the spirit and personality of the subject as well as their likeness.

Each of my portraits is a labour of love, created entirely by hand from your photographs, using high quality materials and without any digital tools or shortcuts.
I work mainly with soft pastels to create rich, vibrant portraits, full of colour and texture. Some subjects call for other mediums, so I also use charcoal, graphite, pen and ink and watercolours.

Every portrait that I create tells a story, communicating each individual’s likeness, personality and spirit, building a connection between subject and viewer. I capture the wonderful variety of colours, tones, light and shadows in faces, fur and feathers. Eyes are my favourite feature, their sparkle and expression really bring a portrait to life. The innocence of youth or the wisdom of a lifetime shine through.
